While I was in the car earlier, driving back from the book store, I happened to give a dirty glance to the bag next to me. Images if sensual nights curled up with the paged wonder now resting beside me. A simple book I've been waiting on for months finally in my grasp as well as a random World of Warcraft book I happened to stumble upon. They officially became mine only two hours after I threw in my pledge to dedicate this month to NaNoWriMo and also after figuring out a chapter that has been haunting me for about five months. NaNoWriMo, for those you were unaware, is when writers young and old dedicate themselves to writing a novel in a month. And yes, it's just as hard as it sounds.
Without knowing it I had crippled myself. An image of my muse, for some reason chibified, with terror in her eyes shielding her self as I take a baseball bat to her legs. Oddly specific but I am Italian so no real need to wonder there. In that moment I really felt like uttering a simple "doh."
So as tempting as my new books are I am gonna have to hide them til bed time each night so they don't devour my days and led me to getting the sequels. For this November I'm going to try and last longer than a week before giving up and picking up Elder Scrolls Oblivion again or marathoning battle grounds in World of Warcraft just to get the taste of bloodlust out of my mouth that trying to write through frustration always causes.
Wish me luck with tribbles on the side. I will keep this updated on my progress but don't be surprised if in a week I've been reduced to gnawing on my computer.
